The Murston War Memorials

The Murston War memorials are probably the closest to my heart. Murston is my home village. Murston was a small village attached to Sittingbourne which was dominated by the brickfields. After WW1 there were two memorials created. One was a large cross built to the side of the new church. It had 4 panels with the dead listed on them. Nowadats it sits outside the welfare hall, and i used to see it so many times coming out of school and playgroup. There is a memorial panel with the same names on within the church. Twenty years later another war came and another list of Murston men perished. This time the memorial was a panel within the church.
