Son of Arthur and Josephine Ward of “Hovedene” HIghstead, Sititngoburne. Born in Rodmersham

Appears also on the Murston memorial. He was a school teacher at the Rodmersham School.

Pte J.Lamkin, RHA-

 John Lamkin was the borther of C.Lamkin below. He was not Killed during the war, nor does he appear on the absentee voters list. His service papers reveal a Rochester address With his father Edwin of Rodmersham as next of kin. He was pensioned off in mid 1918,  Date of Death given as ?12/01/1919

 Did not die during the war. Lived Rodmersham Green. Service papers do not reveal when or how he died, a letter in the file notifying disposal of kit is dated Oct 1918. SO a bit of a mystery

When U9 sunk 3 cruisers before breakfast in the North Sea. 

 Clarence Lamkin was born in Sittingbourne and wasa recalled reservist.
